As the calendar turns to 2024, the New Jersey Titans are proud of their 80+ alumni currently playing NCAA hockey.
The collegiate hockey world got back into gear after the holiday break with games at the Division I and III levels this past weekend. On Friday, December 29th, Robertson Cup winning captain Stephen Willey (2020-22) picked up his first point of the season with an assist on Army’s first goal of the game as the Black Knights defeated #16 New Hampshire 6-3 for the program’s first victory over a ranked team since 2017. Nick Ring (2021-22) had an assist for the Wildcats in the losing effort, his 4th of the season.
Saturday night saw more Titans in action, led by Nick Seitz (2020-21) tallying 3 primary assists for Princeton, tying a season high, as the Tigers defeated Harvard 5-2. The senior has been named the ECAC All-Academic Team in his first three seasons for the Tigers while recording 36 points in 97 games at the Ivy League institution. In Columbus, Ohio, a goal by Kyler Head (2016-20) and an assist from Ryan Coughlin (2021-22) would not be enough, as Mercyhurst fell 5-3 to Ohio State. Meanwhile, Ring would help UNH get back into the winning column, scoring the first goal of the game and his second of the year in a 6-2 victory over Sacred Heart.
At the Division III level, Robert Hyde (2022-23) scored his 2nd goal of the season for SUNY-Cortland, but the Red Dragons lost to Jack Karlsson (2020-22) and Stevenson University 7-4. Karlsson and the Mustangs would win again the next night, defeating Concordia Wisconsin 5-1 to win the Oswego State Holiday Classic.
