With over 80+ players playing NCAA and University hockey this season, the New Jersey Titans are proud to have had a part in developing such talented players.
Nick DeSantis was the last Titan playing collegiate hockey this year, leading his Cornell Big Red to the Springfield Regional Final, where they fell a game short of the Frozen Four to Denver by a score of 2-1. DeSantis scored the only goal of the game for Cornell, and finishes his Sophomore season with 8 goals and 6 assists for 14 points.
Ryan Naumovski led the Titans’ alumni with 25 points in his Graduate season at Augustana, leading the team in their first season at the NCAA Division I level. Naumovski finished his collegiate career as the reigning NCAA Ironman, appearing in 166 straight games since beginning his college journey with Niagara in 2019. The former Titans’ alternate captain turned pro at the end of the season, making his debut with the Kalamazoo K-Wings of the ECHL, recording an assist in 3 games.
Kyle Jeffers joined the professional ranks as well after concluding his collegiate career with Lindenwood University, where he put up 17 points in 26 games as a Senior. He finished his collegiate career with 38 points in 60 games after beginning with American International. Signing with the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL in February, Jeffers made an impact in Georgia with 10 points in 19 games.
Also turning pro at the conclusion of their college seasons were Zack Nazzarett and Brandon Perrone. After playing together at Long Island University, both signed with the Fayetteville Marksmen of the SPHL at the conclusion of their seasons, where they joined former Titan Todd Goehring. Nazzarett recorded 11 points in 20 games for the Sharks, while Perrone patrolled the crease with a 8-14-1 record, with 3 shutouts. Perrone put up a 3-2-0 record for the Marksmen, while Nazzarett put up 2 goals and 3 assists in 6 games.
Matt Iasenza captured his second straight National Championship when Hobert defeated Trinity 2-0, with the two year Titan scoring in the national championship game.
Mercyhurst University had the most Titans on their roster with five. Kyler Head led the way with 15 points in 30 games for the Lakers in his third year in Erie. Ryan Coughlin and Tommy Bannister both improved in their sophomore year, recording 12 and 10 points respectively. Connor Pelc, with 5 points, and Tyler Nasca, with an assist, made their collegiate debut, as the Lakers just missed on a playoff spot in the Atlantic Hockey Association.
In Canada, Owen Luik put up 10 points for Toronto’s Varsity Blues, while Thomas Lacombe added 17 points for York University, both in 28 games.
