The North American Hockey League announced its Bauer Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week for week ending December 19 and Titans forward Brendan Dumas was named the East Division’s star of the week while fellow forward Ryan Coughlin was named honorable mention.
Dumas had four points (2 goals and 2 assists) during this past weekend’s sweep over the Maine Nordiques. He had a pair of assists in Friday’s 4 – 2 win, and he had a pair of goals in Saturday’s 5 – 2 victory. On the season, the North Attleboro, MA native is second on the team with 38 total points (13 goals and 25 assists) in 32 games.
“Brendan has continued his strong play for us throughout the first half of the season” said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Brendan has come into our culture and fit in and contributed from Day 1. He is a big part of our team on and off the ice. His energy and passion is infectious. This kid is going to be a big time get for an NCAA Division 1 program. We look forward to him continuing to grow and develop and lead us towards the Robertson Cup Playoffs” concluded Doremus.
The is the fifth time that Dumas has received weekly/monthly league recognition. He was second star of the week for week ending October 14 and honorable mention for weeks ending October 24 and November 21. He also was honorable mention for forward of the month for October.
Coughlin had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) against Maine. He had a goal and an assist in Friday’s victory, and he had an assist in Saturday’s win. The Charlotte, NC native has five points (3 goals and 2 assists) in nine games played with the Red Buckets. On the season, Coughlin has 20 points (7 goals and 13 assists) in 27 games.
