Howell, NJ – After a tough weekend and Tuesday tilt against the New Jersey Rockets, changes needed to be made to the Titans EHL lineup. Those changes came via the way of a few call ups from the Titans Youth Program and outside programs. Called Up for the weekend were Tim Gelatt, Charlie Singerhouse, and Anthony Cusanelli (U18 AAA), as well as Patrick Dapuzzo (NJ Avalanche MJHL) and Michael DePhillips (NJ Avalanche U16 National).
On Friday, the Titans started out fast against the Philadelphia Revolution in front of some 300+ fans at Middletown Ice World. Two quick goals paced the attack as Mac Howey led the way with a hat trick. Dapuzzo and Gelatt sealed up the blue line, while Singerhouse was a strong two way player, Cusanelli buried a nice Power Play goal, and DePhillips was outstanding in his first Junior “A” Game ,making 27 saves.
On Saturday, the Titans travelled to Scranton, Pennsylvania to take on the WBS Jr Knights. After heading an hour in the wrong direction, the Titans arrived at the Arena a precious few minutes before puck drop. After getting a delayed warm up in, it was on. Ryan Price struck first for the Titans after DePhillips withstood an early Knights barrage making 22 saves in the first period. The Titans were helped when Tyler Ralph struck off of a Sean Brown shot late in the first to put the Titans up 2-0. After a Knights goal cut the lead to 2-1, call up Charlie Singerhouse was instrumental in the Titans win, sealing the game with a third period goal to increase the margin back to 2. DePhillips was outstanding in the win making 47 saves and earning the EHL Player of the Week Award.
