Dan O’Keefe a 1994 sophomore that plays for the Titan Junior team as a D-man was selected by the Peterbough Petes of OHL in yesterday’s player entry Draft. O’Keefe is the 5th Titan in 6 yrs to be drafted by the OHL.
Dave Brownschidle (Brown U), Anthony Borrelli (Brown U ), Chris Zaires ( Brown), Jack Walchessen (Peterbough) & Mike Swick (Sudsbury) all played for the Titans and were drafted. Walchassen and Swick both still play in the OHL, which is the number 1 Junior league in the world! Dan has been a Titan since his PW years and has worked hard through his youth years to reach his skill level.
As a first year midget he was selected to play as a 15 year old on the Junior team. Dan has the size, he is a 6′3 185 D man from Wall Township. “He is a stay home, and mobile defenseman who makes good decisions with puck” said Dustin De Palma Jr.Titans Head Coach.
Dan will attend the Peterbough dryland testing elment for the Petes in July. Then in Septmeber, he will report to the team’s camp for 48 hrs. “Our relationship with OHL keeps getting stronger as we continue to get players in front of the right people, at the right event and it gives the players a chance to get noticed”, said George Haviland, Jr. Titans Hockey Director. Dan will return to play D on the Jr Titans Jr team with Peterbough keeping a close eye on him. Randy Walker, who also is an Eastern Scout for the Petes will report to the club on O’Keefes progress.
