Weekend Preview vs Maine

Nov 30, 2023

The New Jersey Titans travel north to face the Maine Nordiques for the first time this season, with a two game set on Friday and Saturday nights.  New Jersey enters the weekend in 6th place in the East Division, with a record of 13-10-1, while Maine currently sits in 2nd place, 3 points behind Maryland, with a record of 16-6-3.

Offensively, the Nordiques are led by Charles Tardif.  Maine’s captain returned to the NAHL this season after spending the past two seasons with Nanaimo of the BCHL, and has recorded 15 goals and 16 assists in 25 games.  From the blue line, David Helledy is currently ranked 4th for scoring by defensemen in the league, with 4 goals and 17 assists in 24 games.  Thomas Heaney returns in goal for the Nordiques, sporting a record of 8-5-2, a goals against of 2.67, and a save percentage of .891.

Last season, New Jersey went 5-1-2 against the Nordiques, with four of those eight games requiring overtime or a shootout.  Now, the Titans look for successful road trip against the team that has eliminated them from the playoffs in two of the past three seasons.  Game times are set for 7:30pm Friday, December 1st, and 7:00pm on Saturday, December 2nd.  Both games can be seen live on NAHLtv.
