Mike Haviland Named Head coach at Colorado College

Middletown, NJ – The New Jersey Junior Titans are proud to announce that Mike Haviland, club advisor and brother of Hockey Director George Haviland was named the Head Coach of the Colorado College Tiger Ice Hockey Program today.  Colorado College competes at the NCAA Division I level in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) with the following schools: the University of Denver, Miami University of Ohio, the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the University of Nebraska-Omaha, the University of North Dakota, St. Cloud State University, and Western Michigan University.  The 8 team conference began play in 2013.

 

Haviland, prior to joining Colorado College was the Head Coach of the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.  The Bears are one of the league's most visible and accomplished franchises, and Haviland had a successful year with the Washington Capitals AHL affiliate.  Prior to Hershey, Mike won 2 ECHL Kelly Cups, one with the Trenton Titans and another with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.  After his time in the ECHL Mike was the Head Coach fort he Norfolk Admirals and Rockford Ice Hogs in the American Hockey League, before landing an Assistant Coaching job with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL, where he won a Stanley Cup in 2010.

 

The Titans would like to congratulate Mike and are excited for the opportunity for Mike to lead Colorado College, and look forward to developing a great relationship between the Titans program and the Colorado College program.
