The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman David Posma has committed to play NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey for the Niagara University Purple Eagles who play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference.
Posma, 17, was a rookie this recently concluded season with the Titans. He had eleven points (2 goals and 9 assists) in 38 regular season games. The Pomona, NY native had two points (both assists) in the Titans five playoff games.
“I am very excited to attend Niagara University” said Posma. “I’ve worked so hard my whole like to achieve this goal and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of all my family and coaches that have helped me get to this point” concluded Posma.
“We are thrilled for David and his family” said Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “David came into the season and worked his tail off from day one of training camp. David demonstrated daily a desire to grow and improve as a player and he improved nearly day to day throughout the year. I think what is most exciting about David is that his best hockey is still in front of him. He is working hard this off season to become bigger and stronger and I know that will only help his game mature even more. A huge congratulations to David and the Posma family on this amazing accomplishment” said Doremus.
Niagara University is in Lewiston, NY. The Purple Eagles are coached by Jason Lammers. Niagara had an overall 7-12-3 record this past season.
