The New Jersey Titans are excited to announce that Joe Collins has signed a tender agreement with the team for the 2018-19 season.
Collins is a Minnesota native and played high school hockey at Benilde-St. Margaret. In 24 games this season, he recorded 19 goals and 13 assists for 32 points.
Titans assistant coach Bobby DiRico said the staff wants to reach out to more players in the Midwest region and bring them to New Jersey. He also spoke about Collins and what he thinks the ’99 forward can potentially bring to the team next season.
“Joe can bring a big physical presence to the team along with his good skating and skill set,” he said. “He’s one of those types of players that can do a little bit of everything, so when he comes here, hopefully he can contribute on all areas of the ice.”
When talking about the tender agreement, Collins said he is excited to join the team based on what he experienced during his visit to the Garden State.
“Receiving the tender really means a lot to me and it’s a great honor to now be apart of the Titans organization. Obviously the practices are going to be much faster with more competition but the thing that really made me enjoy my stay there was the community,” Collins said.
“The players were great and opened up to me quickly and the coaches were always involved in everything that we did, it was the passion that I saw in them which made me like it here even more. I’m excited to come next year and I want to wish the guys on the team good luck for the remainder of their season!”
We would like to congratulate Joe and his family on deciding to become a part of the Titans organization.
