The 18U team, facing one of the best club in the circuit, came to play. After disappointing in Blaine and San Jose, the Jr. Titans, who had won just one PHL game through the first nine league contests, won both their games on Friday in Darien. Defenseman Matthew Armenti, who has already signed a tender with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL, scored in both games for New Jersey. Several 95s and 96s contributed to the victories.
The first win, took a 14 round shootout. Benjamin Bugge scored the goal to seal the deal. After falling behind the Detroit Falcons 4-0, the Titans scored 4 unanswered to send it to overtime.
In the nightcap, the Titans behind Dave Sticke's 2 goals bested the Carolina Jr Hurricanes 5-3.
Great Effort all around!
